 The Horning House

The Horning Summer Home was designed by Techbuilt to take advantage of a mountain view on one side.

The structure is constructed with massive mortise and tenoned timbers which compliment the rustic setting. The home is designed to be open, comfortable, informal, and fun - a direct reflection of the Owners.

The tower is a light shaft for the game nook on the second floor as well as a vent to allow for circulation of air throughout the house.

 The Swerz House

Built in prestigious Watch Hill, Rhode Island, the Swerz Home is designed to capture the essence of New England Style.

Dramatic gables, cedar clapboards, corner boards, hand split shingles, and paladian windows were carefully selected to be in harmony with the indigenous architecture.

The Owner’s choice to “point up” the exterior trim in white while staining the cedar clapboards, further captures the New England Spirit.

 The Markel House

An unusually steep lot, combined with concern for both solar orientation and its spectacular view, led our designers to solutions unique to that charming vacation house.

Living, dining, and kitchen areas, easily accessible to each other though physically separate, all share the fabulous view. A three story solarium floods light and warmth into the house.

The connecting double-helix wood staircases provide a dramatic focal axis, accentuating the angular floor plan of this striking home.

 The Lehman House

The desire to take advantage of natural landscaping possibilities led to the siting and design of this shed roof contemporary.

Most of the rooms overlook a fern and poplar filled swale, while nearest the neighbors the view was restricted and privacy maintained by placing windows high in the walls.

Vaulted ceilings pleasantly expand interior volumes in both the living room and master bedroom.

 The Ostergard House

The unique “V” shape of this distinctive house serves to orient all of the primary rooms towards the solarium with its view of the Potomac River.

The angular layout, anchored by the skylit stair tower, allows a continuous open flow between the separately defined library and family rooms.

 The Phillips House

Dynamic and bold, this exceptional contemporary with its geometric lines adds drama to the steep lot on which it sits.

The cantilevered porch looks down the main slope, while the turrets also take in the panoramic side views.

Interior spaces are accentuated by doric columns and glass block walls providing a taste of the classical elements used in post-modern style.
